Amansie West DCE presents 74PWDs with start up kits

The District Chief Executive for Amansie West Hon. Nii Larty Oleenu has presented various items worth Ghc 90,000 to 74 person with people with disabilities (PWDs) in the Amansie West District.

The items presented to the beneficiaries in deep freezers, industrial sewing machines, fufu pounding machines, Wmwheel chairs, hair dryers among others.

The donation forms part of government’s flagship programme to eradicate poverty and hunger among people with disabilities which is doubled as Zero hunger under the Sustainable Development Goals.

According to the DCE ,this is not the first time the district isgiving out items to PWDs.

He cited some items were given to 100 persons with disabilities in the first quarter of the year. “The President and the District is committed to help better the lives of PWDs”.

He advised the beneficiaries to take good care of the items and use them for the intended purposes.

The DCE revealed that others also had their share through the payment of their hospital bills and others too their schools were catered for.


He appealed to the beneficiaries to pray for the President of the republic so that He will continue to support them in order to reduce their burden on their families.

The Chairman for the persons with disabilities in the Amansie West District Mr. Kingsford Manu used the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to the President and the DCE for the items they have presented to his colleagues.

The Chairman urged his colleagues to use the items carefully and make profit from it, so it will reduce the hardship on them and also to reduce begging on the street.
