As general elections 2020 are drawing near, everyone is showing interest. Supporters are campaigning for their political parties and likewise artists are releasing songs for peaceful elections.
Afro Pop and highlife singer, Awotse Kelly has released his latest single “Ghana Is Bigger Than Political Parties” produced by Kingsbeat.
The single is a peace song that preaches peace ahead of the upcoming 2020 general election.
Inspired by the title , the message in the song advises every Ghanaian to put the country first during this year’s election. Awotse Kelly in this song also attacked fellow musicians endorsing the various political parties describing them as hypocrite. This is a song for all political parties in Ghana as all the various parties were featured in the song.
Twelve people have qualified to contest for the seat of the Presidency.
They include President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr Kofi Akpaloo of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Ms Brigitte Dzogbenuku of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Party (NDP).
The rest are Madam Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Mr Christian Kwabena Andrews of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Mr Asiedu Walker, an independent candidate; Mr Hassan Ayariga of the All People’s Congress (APC), Mr David Apasera of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Mr Henry Herbert Lartey of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP).
