Chieftaincy Dispute-Two Killed,50 Houses Burnt In North Gonja District

There are fears of reprisal attacks in the communities of North East Gonja district of the Northern region, after two (2) people were reportedly killed during the exchange of gunfire.

There is a long-standing chieftaincy dispute Mankarigu,Disa and Salugu all in the North Gonja District over who is the rightful ruler of the traditional areas.

It is unclear to Kumikasa.com who may have started the gun battle between the two Chieftaincy factions.And as it stance now,noo arrests have been made and the situation is very volatile because the policeman are no more at the scene.

Last two years in Gonja North District, similar clashes between the two communities over the same dispute led to the deaths of eight people in May.
