A social worker, Sulemana Abdul Rauf, has picked nomination forms to contest the parliamentary candidature position for governing New Patriotic Party in the Kumbungu Constituency of the Northern Region.

Abdul Rauf, who is in his early thirties and nicknamed Youth Governor, says his decision is motivated by the ‘Youth Agenda’ mantra which is to give voice to young people a empower them with education and Jobs.

Candidate Rauf for years has been at the forefront of championing girl-child education, providing economic support to women in the Kumbungu area with funding from his American partners.

The NPP has never won the Kumbungu parliamentary seat since the country’s return to multi-party democracy in 1992 and for Rauf the time has come for the people of the Constituency to charter a new path.

He says with his exceptional track record sets him apart other contestants and that wrestling the Kumbungu seat from opposition National Democratic Congress in election 2020 will be an easy one.

Sulemana Abdul Rauf, a product of Sunyani Technical University, is hence appealing to delegates of the NPP to massively endorse him as the Party’s PC come September 28
