Ghanaian Music Producers Are Greedy – Hammer

Renowned Ghanaian sound engineer Edward Nana Poku Osei, popularly known as Hammer has described music producers who do not invite other engineers to master their work as “greedy”.

“I’m the only sound engineer who invites other engineers to master my work like they do in America. In Ghana nobody does it, because they are greedy. They want the money all for themselves he said.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanaweb, the producer added that he doesn’t just accept any offer to produce beats but ensures that the artist actually knows how to rap.

“When you come to me I need to know whether you can really rap, put your money aside. I need to know whether you are worth the trouble because I also have my fan base who are counting on me to make the right person” he said.

Hammer, born Edward Nana Poku Osei who is currently the vice president of A1 bakery is known for grooming some of the best Ghanaian Hip Hop or Hiplife artists, including Obrafour, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Ayigbe Edem, and others.
