“If The Truth Prevails; Render A Plea For Misinforming” – President Akuffo-Addo To Mainstream Media

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has urged the media to declare ingenuous acknowledgement of plea after disseminating a false reportage to the public.

The President expressed worry about the menace and what he describes as a blatant misreporting of facts in the media landscape.

In a recent photo tweet, President Nana Akuffo-Addo indicated that, the mainstream media practioners boycotts apologizing to the public after misinforming and the true facts are obviously significant.

“The worrying trend is that, in many cases, even after the public has been misinformed, and the true facts are later made known, mainstream media of chickens out of an honest open acknowledgement that ‘We were wrong’.”

President Akuffo-Addo further stated that the media abandons the rare facts and rather facing the sequence of real or fictional events. A situation he claim, is a canker to Ghana’s way of conveying and communicating issues.

“The choice is often to sweep it under the carpet and move on to the next big story”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo urge the mainstream media that, if the true facts prevail after misleading the public,  they should acknowledge the rare fact that, they were wrong.
