Abrekyirieba Kofi Sammy Names His Top 5 Hip Life Musicians; And Killer Alumi Missed It

Known for hit songs (Yello Sisi,Makoma,To wo bo Ase na Afideie wura beba) etc, Legend highlife musician Abrekyieba Kofi Sammy who turned 77 this year in an interview with Kumikasa.com has revealed the names that he believes are the best hip life musicians in Ghana currently.

Naming one of the country’s biggest music exports, Sarkodie, as the first on his list,Abrekyirieba Kofi Sammy said, “I don’t personally listen to the current musicians because they don’t do content and reasonable songs but for Sarkodie,he is quite okay.”

However, he named, second on his list is Obrafour.He said, “Obrafour is wonderful,he is deep and very lyrical .Okyeame Kwame,Kwabena Kwabena and Samini complete Abrekyirieba Kofi Sammy’s list of current best and content hip life musicians in Ghana.

Nevertheless, he believes strongly that considering the African background and upbringing, morality must reflect in music and he encouraged musicians to reflect on that to make the listener a better person.
