If indeed the popular parlance “the best comes from the East” is true, then the best is not yet in Ghana Music since the Industry is dominated by the Greater Accra residents. Ghana Music though has had a stop in the Eastern Region before, it’s nestle is not in Eastern anymore.
Arguably, the Eastern is the Region with the highest natural resources in Ghana. Topping up with its extravagant resources, amazing talents are widely spread in the region as well. Musically, names of talents the Eastern regioo can boast of can fill the whole space if i dares to mention. But for the sake of proves, a few can be mentioned; Obrafour,K.k Fosu,Koo Ntakra,Daasebr Gyamena etc.
With strong representation in the Music now,Kofcity boasts of Chuku Lion.Raky Nova,Mayoka,2in1,Daybreak as its pillars in the industry. With the emergence of koo Ntakra as the winner of the ‘MTN HITMAKER’ competition. Artist circles in the Region is confident this year is the take over for Koforidua which is popularly called Kofcity.
Speaking to selected Songsters in the Region, they expressed confidence in this year (2017) adding that, regardless whatever will happen, “it is time for kofcity”. In turns, some Artists spoke in an interview with www.kumikasa.com .
Talanku who is known in the Showbiz Circles for his thrilling performance and songs spoke that, with the number of hit songs in his musical arsenal, he is taking over Ghana Music this year. In the studio where i met Talanku,he played some 2 minutes of his new high life song to drop soon.
Talking to Tee Rhyme,he also mentioned that, “I have a brand new song tittled “Tafo”and the song is already a number one song which is in every DJ’s playlist”.
Raky Nova also mentioned that,he is planing to organise some awards for his fellow musicians to ginger them.Speaking to Daybreak,he said “my new song tittled MIES with Guru is doing great”.
