Meet The UK-Based Ghanaian Gospel Musician, Nhyira Hemaa

Charlotte Hannah Addo, known in showbiz as Nhyira Hemaa is a Ghanaian born British Citizen gospel artiste and entrepreneur married with 4 kids based in the United Kingdom, London to be precise. Winneba is her hometown, a suburb in the central region.

At a tender age of 5, Nhyira had to stay with her auntie at Kokomlemle in Accra due to the busy work schedules of her parents especially her mom who frequently embark on business trips outside the country.

Since both parents are the working class and business entrepreneurs, Nhyira spends most of the teenage life with aunties and grandparents as her mother often stays abroad.

As a child, she goes to Church with either her aunt who fellowship at Allotey- Pappoe Memorial Methodist at Accra New- Town or her grandmother who is a Presbyterian.

Nhyira used to listen to song ministrations from the Victory Bible Church which was close to their residence. She at the time enjoyed songs such as “me ntumi me da wasi adea wa ay3 amame me ntumi mi da wa si” and “Cast your burdens unto Jesus for He cares for you”.

At 7 she began to sing at the children’s Sunday school department at Police Church Odorkor Barracks near Bank Quarter’s where she spends most of her weekends with siblings.

Charlotte Hannah Addo started off as a soloist at The Divine Healer’s Church, Mamprobi Bamboi Assembly where her father was Pastor there. She and was later joined with three of her siblings Regina, Eunice, and Gifty. They performed as a group in various functions including weddings however the group did not last yet Nhyira Hemaa followed her passion and continued as a soloist.

She sang from church to church and became very active with singing especially when she joined Assemblies of God Church at Mamprobi a suburb in Accra.

As the years went by, Nhyira became a member of the Light House Chapel International at Korlegono near Korlebu Teaching Hospital and was part of the choir named’Tulips’ that ministers during the second service. She had the opportunity to minister alongside BDR BDJ BDA and many more all now Pastors at Lighthouse Chapel International.

Yet again, Nhyira later joined Zion Praise Chapel International where her style of singing changed as she became more radical and led praises and worship. In the UK she continued to follow her heart and ministered in various churches.

With Nhyira Records, she came out with a debut album titled ‘Ewurade Me Som Wo’ in November 2013. In 2014 she released her 2nd album titled’ Promised Land’. She has three other singles as well. She doesn’t only ministers in songs but also has various gifts, which includes The ‘Prophetic’ ‘healing’ ‘helping’ among many others. She had traveled around the globe to minister.

Nhyira Hemaa is CEO & Founder of Nhyira Hemaa Project and Rhapsody Glamour. She is also a relationship coach, she has a page on social media named DO’s and DONT’S in relationships she’s also a mentor to up and coming gospel artistes’. Apart from all of these, she is also a songwriter and a Critical Analyst at Rhapsody Management. Her hobbies are cooking football reading singing telling jokes.
