MTN Ghana Engages Northern Musicians On Music Digitization & Monetization

MTN Digital Music Conference maiden edition held in Accra and Kumasi, moved its train to the Northern Regional Capital, Tamale. The Northern sector could definetly not be left out because of how fast-rising the music Industry there has become.

The event took place at the Radarch Lodge and Conference centre in Tamale on the 25th of January 2019. It saw alot of industry players including, musicians, artist managers, bloggers, DJs and producers. The event started around 10am and ended 1pm.

Some of the known faces sighted at the conference were Fancy Gadam, Sherrif Gali, Prince Mahama, One Naira, Maaseg Dagaati, DJ Paraara, Blue Beats, and more.

The conference saw our main speaker Munya Chanetsa from South Africa elaborating factors of which musicians should consider before getting their songs out there for the masses.

Sherrif Galli and Prince Mahama shared his experience on the old way of distributing and marketing music during his time whilst the young musicians Maaseg Dagaati who seems to be making a revenue off streaming shared his experience as well.

At the end of the day, musicians expressed their gratitude to MTN for not ignoring the Northern Sector and appreciating their art by coming over to school and train them on Streaming.
Also available were Aftown, Quisimah and Content Connect Ghana.
