After throwing cautions and decorum to the wind, Kumasi-based controversial gospel musician, Samuel Opoku, aka Bro. Sammy is to suffer a humiliation of his life after releasing his new single, Nipa Foo ‘diss’ song.
According to Zionfelix.net report, popular Ghanaian highlife singer, Nana Reagan, aka Slim Buster is set to file a ‘deadly’ court action against the artiste for using his works without permission.
The manager of the highlife musician, on Wednesday told Accra-based Adom FM that the gospel artiste, Samuel Opoku, aka Bro. Sammy did not seek their consent before using portions of his artiste’s song, ‘Nhyira’ which features Tinny.
According to the manager, Slim Buster is not happy and he is planning to sue the controversial gospel musician if he does not approach them to do what is necessary.
The manager, Ebenezer Asare in his conversation stated that they have written to the Ghana Music Right Organisation, GHAMRO informing them about Bro. Sammy’s attitude and are yet to get response.
“We going to take action against him, as I am speaking right now we have written a complaint letter to GHAMRO to make an official report to seek for assistance in any action that might be taken…”
“If he [Sammy] and his team become reasonable enough there could be some arbitration to settle the matter amicably by paying some compensation because he has, 100%, reproduced the song” Slim Buster reportedly said.
However, Bro. Sammy speaking on Radio Univers’ BigX show revealed that he has already spoken to the producer of Slim Buster and hence does not believe there is going to be any issue, therefore it comes to him as a surprise.
