Zylofon boss ‘NAM 1’ was my school mate and friend at ADISCO – Kumi Guitar

Born Nana Yaw Kumi, Highlife musician Kumi Guitar has stated that His boss Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of Zylofon Media was his school mate and friend during his senior high school days at Adisadel College (ADISCO).

At a tender age he started humbly as part of a music group in Adisadel College. His was ushered onto the professional music scene after collaboration on Sugar tone’s compilation.

In an interview on the Delay show he revealed that, “He was my mate, I won’t say we were so close that we shared a meal together but we were friends and we used to chat.”

“He as well as everyone in school knew I loved music and entertainment”
“Before we met, I hadn’t seen him in a long while.”

When asked whether or not he contacted Nana Appiah or it was Nana Appiah who contact contacted him, he said; “It was a phone call, he called me. When he called me, I said Oh!. By then I didn’t know how hard he has worked and how far he has come, but when I got there and saw the office and the seriousness in his conversation, I knew he meant business.”

Kumi Guitar was the first artiste to be signed onto the Zylofon Music record label.
