Offinso South NDC Party fights Covid-19 with personal protective equipment



The National Democratic Congress party in Offinso South of the Ashanti region on Friday, 24, has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to fight against novel coronavirus in the municipality.

The NDC party led by the former Offinso South DCE and the current Parliamentary Candidate, hon Haruna Yusif presented about 3,000 nose masks together with over 10 gallons and 200 mini sized hand sanitisers to two taxi stations, Physically Challenge Action Foundation, a radio station and huge number of people living in the municipality.

Hon Haruna Yusif In an Interview with Offinso based Time FM Journalist, Kaakyire Kwasi Afari, he made assurance that an additional 7,000 would be made available for distribution to the constituents across the Offinso South municipal.

According to the leader of the Umbrella party in Offinso South, the fight against Covid-19 has become a collective effort, and as a great ‘Akatamansodian’ party in Offinso, they couldn’t have sat down and watched other people and organization’s donate without his party’s effort.

In the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, several individuals and organizations are providing PPEs to institutions and communities to enhance the fight against the deadly pandemic.

The party’s candidate advised his fellow politicians who would want to post their pictures or political campaign posters on these PPEs before distributions or donation should emulate Offinso NDC party and distribute generously devoid of party colours.

Mr Barima Antwi Sylvester a.k.a Wofa Arch, the leader and founder of Physically Challenge Action Foundation-Offinso, upon receiving the items, thanked the NDC for the kind gestures and called on all well-meaning citizens and corporate entities to support his 80 disables with PPE’S to help them drive away the virus from entering their environment.

Mr Antwi, in his short address to the party, he complained that, daily meal’s for his populates is their biggest challenge as far as the disabled foundation is concern hence, calling for nongovernmental organisation to come to their aid.
