Shatta Wale, the Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight, is facing growing criticism from the youth of Tamale over his failure to fulfill a promise he made after being enskinned as the Dancehall Naa (Dancehall King) of Tamale in 2019.

At the time, the musician pledged to establish a large music studio to train young people in music production and also create employment opportunities through large-scale farming. However, years on, the promised studio has yet to materialize, despite Shatta Wale’s continued prominence and several visits to the city, including his joint concert with Fancy Gadam in June 2025.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Max 89.7 FM and Max TV, Issahaku Tajudeen Mohammed expressed the disappointment of the Tamale youth during a discussion with Kumi Kasa on the “Showbiz Max” show .
