Gospel musician Mistress Dorcas has been crowned Best Diaspora Gospel Song of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards Europe 2026, adding another major achievement to her growing music career. She secured the award with her song “Obra,” which was listed among the nominees in the competitive diaspora gospel category.
The award forms part of the Ghana Music Awards Europe’s efforts to recognise Ghanaian musical talents making an impact both at home and in the diaspora. Mistress Dorcas competed against artistes including Afriy David with “Eduru Me So,” Akua Lizz with “Wo Do Me,” Daniel Jeddman with “Nyame,” Felicia Boadu with “Aseda,” Nana Yaa Otchere with “Ahoto,” RevGraceMan with “My Father,” Samuel Sey with “Waye’bi,” and Yaw Bossman with “He Go Do Am Again.”
Her victory places “Obra” among the recognised gospel works from Ghanaian diaspora musicians at the 2026 awards. The achievement also highlights Mistress Dorcas’ contribution to gospel music and gives her another platform to connect with audiences beyond Ghana.
The Ghana Music Awards Europe 2026 ceremony was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, celebrating artistes across several categories and recognising the continued contribution of Ghanaian music to the international community.
