Award-winning Gospel singer, Efua Black has identified her musical talent as her point of contact to the prospective audience of her ministry.
The inspirational singer had an interesting conversation with Silva Lady on Aben Wo Ha on DL FM. The interview, which was conducted on Thursday, May 30, 2024, forms part of her music promotion in Accra.
Efua Black, who is currently in Accra for brand introduction to a wider market base, sees her music career as the product that could attract more attention to her growing ministry. Fortunately, if she gains prominence in the Ghanaian Gospel music industry, it will drag the other aspects of her ministry along. Hence, she will be able to make some major impacts and fulfill God’s plans in her life as well as the dreams of her team.
“The ministry is a calling, and I have no other option than to answer. Music is a fraction of the ministry. Music sells and will make things easy for the other parts of the ministry. We’re looking at extending our reach to other parts of the country with all our projects.” the Takoradi-based singer added.
The transition of the Twe Ben No singer from a choirister to a professional Gospel act is one gross miraculous step that she is always grateful for. This journey commenced with a prophecy in the year, 2014, God has taken her through to fulfillment. A few years after the prophetic message, she started receiving songs through revelations. This was during the lockdown period due to the COVID 19 pandemic that hit the world by storm. Her recording sessions were quickly scheduled immediately after the lockdown restrictions were eased up, and the rest is the doing of the Lord.
She has within the space of four years, made a huge impact in the music ministry in the Western region of the country, and is presently on an agenda of widening her scope.
The four years in the professional music space after years of being a choirister at church have seen a steady progress. She currently has nine songs to her credit, which includes an extended playlist. The Only God EP has three amazing songs, which exhibited the God-given talent of the amazing singer.
The singer also revealed the fact that Oye Jesus, which is one of her flagship songs, was initially made as a worship song. She was encouraged by legendary Gospel singer, Amy Newman to twist it to a Highlife rendition, which she gladly did due to the great product they had after the transformation. The duo also worked on Efua’s Ma Metse Biara, one beautiful inspirational song, which had the two great singers complement each other on the song.
The inspirational singer has grown to be a household name in the Western Region of Ghana and feels it is about time to take her career to the next level. The Gospel singer, who is currently on a media tour in Accra for the first time, is a force to reckon with. Her songs, without a doubt, can be rated with great writing skills, arrangement, and production. She also revealed the pivotal roles played by her beloved husband in putting these great pieces together.
Some notable aspects of Efua Black Ministry include periodic philanthropic activities. She usually visits the orphanage to celebrate her birthdays with them. The singer, together with her team, paid a visit to the prison right after her yearly Holy Ghost Concert, to fraternize with them, encourage them to be hopeful and trust in the Lord. These projects have always taken place in Takoradi, She sais she hopes to touch other parts of the country with her blessings.
