Lucky Kwasi Asante, professionally known as The Jeniral, is a Ghanaian musician and freelance journalist whose passion for music dates back to his secondary school days at Osei Tutu Secondary School. He began his musical journey in 2007 as a songwriter, rapper, and singer with a group called Diligent Records.
Originally from Juaso in the Ashanti Region, The Jeniral grew up in Accra and spent a significant part of his life in Kumasi and Nkawkaw, experiences that have influenced his creative identity and musical style. His versatility cuts across Afropop, Afrobeat, hip hop, hiplife, and highlife.
Over the years, The Jeniral has steadily built his profile through music releases, collaborations, and media appearances. In 2017, he was featured on Nhyira 104.5 FM’s Entertainment Power Top 10 Countdown, where he placed seventh. The following year, he made another notable appearance on EIB Network’s Agoo FM Showbiz Arena Top 20 Countdown, securing the ninth position. His career has also seen him work with respected names within Ghana’s music industry, including Ball J Beats, Laxio Beats, Blaq Bery Beatz, and Ephraim Beatz, among others.
The Jeniral has released several songs available on major digital streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, with some of his notable works including “Kasɛ Heat,” featuring Kweku Darlington, and “Enjoy,” featuring Ephraim Beatz. His collaborations have further connected him with artists and creatives such as Kweku Darlington, King Quest Rap, and other established figures in the industry. Through his music, The Jeniral continues to explore different sounds while maintaining a distinctive identity that blends contemporary Afropop and Afrobeat influences with elements of hip hop, hiplife, and highlife.

In 2026, he received another nomination at the Ghana Music Awards UK in the UK Based Afrobeats/Afropop Song of the Year category.
