UK based Afro-gospel artiste, Joseph Matthew has made his fans proud by bagging a nomination with his single, “Blessed” in this year’s Ghana Music Awards, UK. The awards scheme which has been in existence for a couple of years now is undoubtedly one of the most revered award schemes for Ghanaians in the Diaspora. It is indeed a great honour to be nominated in it.

The pioneer of Afro-gospel in Ghana, Joseph Matthew got nominated in the category of “UK Based Gospel Song Of The Year”. Keenly contesting in this category are, Mayqueen’s “Bless Me”, Alex Acheampong’s “Mo”, Samuel Sey’s “Agyenkwa Hene”, among others. Though this category is tough, there is doubt that Joseph Matthew’s “Blessed” has higher odds in winning. From enjoying massive playtime on radio and Tv not only in UK or Ghana but also in most African countries. Also the numbers it made across digital platforms were huge.

“Blessed”  got so huge because it did a fusion of contemporary Afrobeats sound mixed with the word of God. The youth who loved it, and pushed it, hence its ability to cut through cultures and amass numbers.

Joseph Matthew has released yet another blazing new Afro-gospel song he titles, “Promise Land” after the proverbial land the bible projects as fertile and flowing with milk and honey. Joseph Matthew likens the “Promise Land” to that of Africa who are lucky because God Almighty has endowed their land with so much goodies.
