Born on 17th April 1976, rapper Okyeame Kwame has had an exceptional career and personal life, making him a role model for many.
Okyeame Kwame has said that, his happiest decision ever on earth is to part ways with his colleague brother Okyeame Quophi.
Okyeame Kwame who was one half of the disbanded group, Akyeame, in an interview with Obuasi based Time 96.9 FM Monitored by Kumikasa.com said, he has not regretted his decision to pursue a solo music career.
When asked by the host, Akwasi Ampofo a.k.a Aboboyaa what he has achieved as a solo artiste, he said “Being an independent musician comes with a lot of impacts. Am doing a lot for myself now and I have no regret about it. I am opportuned to do a lot of things right now.
In 2004, he began his solo career and became an instant success. In 2009, Okyeame Kwame snatched the much-coveted Artiste of the Year in the GMAs.
He is currently married to Annica Nsiah-Apau proud father of 2 children whom he does his best to educate and instill with the same values he places in his music. Kwame says his wife has been the biggest influence on him since they met about a decade ago.
He founded the Okyeame Kwame Foundation, a non-governmental organization to administer free Hepatitis B screening, educate, counsel and create awareness about the disease via entertainment. He hopes to go beyond just free screening of Hepatitis but also help to administer free treatment as well.
