Ghanaian singer known in show business as Kobby Bryt has made a comment on the ongoing LGBTQ+ legalization issues scattered in Ghana from the past few weeks.

When speaking to DJ Tony on Anansekrom Anigyie entertainment show on O.FM, the Kumasi based singer made it clear we shouldn’t allow LGBTQ+ their right if we can’t allow criminals their right. He said.

“There are many people saying we should allow them because they have their right as humans, which brings me to my question that when someone also says I don’t have money or am poor, so government should allow me to steal, should we say is their right so we should allow thief?” he said.

We further went on to explain that if we can’t allow thief’s to roam-about in the country and steal because they are poor so they should have their right, then we shouldn’t allow LGBTQ+ because is not part of our laws and culture and a country and people.

“For me, I don’t support the so-called LGBTQ+ groups, we have to arrest all of them and process them to court because the law doesn’t give them any right to practice that in the country. How would you be bold enough to come out and say you practice it and so you want your freedom.”

“Am very happy parliament is thinking of passing a law against such an act in Ghana. The Holy bible talks against it and God dislikes it.”

In Ghana, gay sex is a criminal offense and punishable by up to three years in jail. Though no one has been prosecuted for same-sex relations in years, human rights activists say LGBT+ people are discriminated against, and often face death threats and abuse. President Akufo-Addo on Saturday said same-sex marriage will not be legalized under his presidency. “I have said it before, and let me stress it again, that it will not be under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo that same-sex marriage will be legal,” he said.

Kobby Bryt has released a new tune that features Kumasi based rapper, Ypee. The new song is called “Samira“, listen to it below: DOWNLOAD
