GOSPEL SONGSTRESS NANA AMA SIKA ADJUDGED FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR AT EMA 2021 AWARDS

Female gospel act, Nana Ama Sika has won the best female vocalist of the year at the just ended 2021 Eastern Music Awards.

The gospel icon was nominated for three musical categories, mainly, Gospel song of the year, female vocalist of the year and most promising artiste of the year. Her silky and soothing voice on melodies makes her stands out unequivocally.

Nana Ama Sika was contentiously pulling strings with three other acts including Gyal Dem Tish, Millicent Yankey and MzKiiki.

In an interview with Kwame Koranteng on Anɔpa Dawuro on Republic FM, Nana Ama Sika revealed that, being adjudged as the female vocalist of the year can only be attributed to the grace of God and nothing else.
According to her, there are some people out there who are better than her but grace found her and during the cause of the program, she got highly surprised when she was named as the winner of the category.

“K.K its grace, I’m not saying this to undermine myself but I’m sure there are people out there who are doing well than me and why should I be nominated and subsequently being adjudged the winner? The people who were closer to me knew I was there that night to witness the program and not to win because its my first time”.

According to the songstress, her mother has always been an inspiration for her musical career. She reiterated that, her mother, most of the times bless her songs and she’s more concerned at what she does but her father has also been a backbone for her success.

Nana Ama sika has so far released seven songs with visuals accompanying it and available on YouTube. She believes with consistency and commitment and hard work, she is the future of Gospel music in the Eastern and the country at large.

The competition for the ultimate winners was slated for 18th December, 2021 at the Koforidua Technical University conference hall.
This year’s awards marked the 5th edition of the Eastern Music Awards since its inception in 2016. The event was highly climaxed with lot of performances from its nominees including the gospel songstress.
