Residents of Labadi Apapa have complained about inadequate emergency services nearby. As part of essentials for a community, Apapa lacks various close-by emergency services especially a hospital.

Mr. Sai Obodai a resident born and bred in Labadi said, “As you can see, our roads are well demarcated, but we have a problem when it comes to emergencies. Health service is a major worry here, since we have none nearby. Residents have to visit as far as the La General Hospital for healthcare”
It is the fact that Ghana Medical Association has warned of dire health challenges in the coming years should government fail to invest in the country’s medical system. Labadi Apapa community is not exempted from this claims.

Assembly man Mr. Aaron Akrong expressed that, “A community like Apapa, should have emergency services, like you’ve mentioned. I wish we could come collectively as residents of this community to set up some of these, which looks almost impossible due to hardship. We would be glad if the government responds to us soon.”

A few residents were not aware of the Apapa environ, since they are new, and they expressed the need for these interventions for they know not what might befall them in the near future.

Ms. Akosua Agyeiwaa a college student and a secondary resident of Apapa said, ” I’m a student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism and at a hostel here in Apapa. Emergency service, I would say is a challenge here and I’ve been a victim of this problem. I once felt sick and had to be admitted at the La General Hospital. It would have been better if we had any hospital closer.”

Other services like security and fire service is also not adequate in this community.
