GOA Group Launched Second Category Of It’s Flagship Award Scheme(SAE)

The launch which the media touring of the capital Koforidua of the Eastern Region saw a delegation from GOA Group Limited trooping in on most influential radio stations in Koforidua as part of preparations towards the main award ceremony scheduled for the end of the year.

The launch of the second category named
“Entertainment and Arts Awards for Excellence”is to honor one industrious entertainment and arts personality who has used their craft, skill, talent, or artistry as an instrument of change towards making lives better for the less privilege and also gone the extra mile to make society a better place.

The media tour which was mostly featured on the entertainment shows of the stations started from Eastern 105.1 FM then to GBC Sunrise FM through to Goodlife FM, Kingdom FM and then finally Bryt Fm was one that allowed the organizers to serve the good listeners and the entire region with well packaged information and intentions for the next categories.

Just as was done in the Greater Accra Region with the first category, the leader of delegation and director of the scheme Mr. Gideon Adjei applauded organizers of other award schemes but was quick to add that most of such awards have over the years lost or outlived their usefulness and as such has become a normal event on the entertainment calendar.

Stressing on the need for the onward movement of the society, Mr. Adjei reiterated that the time has come for organizers of the various awarding schemes to as a matter of urgency exhibit some level of responsibility with regard to the various awards they “dash” to people just for awarding sake and rather focus on making a difference in the society and champion societal discourse with those awards.

Revealing the criteria for the second category of the SAE, the General Manager of GOA Group, Mr. Edmund Dedoo Govina highlighted the successes and impacts of the scheme’s first category, Media and Communications Award for Excellence which saw host of popular mid morning show on Vision One FM, Nana Yaw Sarfo winning that award for his numerous contribution towards developing the society.

The Entertainment and Arts Award for Excellence

is the second category of the five main categories of the Surprise Awards for Excellence franchise which is open to all men and women in the Entertainment or showbiz industry. It is awarded to an individual, a group of persons or an institution in recognition of their commitment to creating an enabling environment at the national levels in today’s globalizing world where entertainment plays an important role in enhancing development.

The recipients of the award will be chosen out of the lots who will be shortlisted and voted for by the jury whose duty is to sieve the mass and come up with one individual, a group or an institution to be surprise and awarded. The deserving awardee must have served humanity through distinctiveness and excelled in service delivery and exceptional contributions to society based on their compassionate work towards the unprivileged .It is awarded in appreciation of determination and commitment to the betterment of life through Humanitarianism and Development in mother Ghana.

The Award selection criteria are not based on trading of nomination forms. Contenders will be shortlisted across the ten regions of Ghana and selected through monitoring and evaluation procedures by monitors across the nation. It will be done through the general public, partnering NGO’S and foundations across the nation.

The organizers GOA Group believe that the scheme will act in an ethical and transparent coordination that will contribute to the health and welfare of the social order. It will pertain not only to business organizations but also to everyone whose actions in the entertainment and arts industry impacts the developmental progress of the nation.
