Host of Onua Showbiz, Nana Kwame Gyan, has called on Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie to appoint an official Public Relations Officer (PRO).
Speaking on the issue of artiste–media relations on last Saturday’s edition of his show, he explained that appointing a PRO would help provide the media with detailed information and clarifications about Sarkodie’s activities, events, and projects, ensuring that fans and the public stay informed about his work.
“Looking at Sarkodie’s camp, there is no one you can openly reach out to for information about his projects. I’m pleading with Sarkodie to make available an official PRO we can contact for information related to projects like his just-ended event. At the moment, we have no one to talk to, and even his manager will not speak,” he said.
He added that criticisms from himself and other presenters have influenced other top artistes such as Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Samini to appoint official PROs, which has improved their relations with the media.
“At first, getting someone from Stonebwoy’s camp was difficult, but after constant criticisms from some of us, he appointed Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng. Shatta Wale also followed suit by appointing Sammy Flex to handle his media relations. If you want someone to speak to from Samini’s camp, you will get one,” he added.
He, however, congratulated both Sarkodie and Stonebwoy for their respective shows at home and abroad.
