As Ghana approaches its crucial December 7th presidential elections, Taadi FM, a leading radio station in the Western Region under the Class Media Group, has intensified its One Ghana One Peace campaign in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE). Running from November 1st to December 10th, the initiative aims to promote unity, non-violence, and community cohesion, reinforcing the nation’s reputation as a beacon of stability.

Taadi FM, known for its strong commitment to community development, business, and culture, has become a trusted platform for fostering dialogue and promoting local values. With its focus on engaging local voices and celebrating the rich heritage of the Western Region, the station is using its influential presence to encourage peaceful conduct among citizens during this critical electoral period.

Key figures from the Western Region have lent their voices to the campaign. Nana Kobina Nketsia V, Paramount Chief of the Essikado Traditional Area, emphasized the importance of national unity, urging citizens to reject hate speech and misinformation. “Peace is our most valuable heritage. Our unity defines us more than any differences,” he stated.

Imam Muhammad Awal, Chief Imam of Takoradi, called for solidarity within the Muslim community, stating, “Let’s not let political differences divide us. Bound by our faith in Islam, let’s come out of this election more united than ever.”

Lawyer Philip Fifi Buckman, NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Kwesimintsim, reminded Ghanaians of their shared responsibility to protect the nation’s peace. “Let us never forget that Ghana is our only home. Together, we must preserve the harmony and love that define our nation,” he remarked.

Mr. Elwoode Akuoko Mantey, General Manager of Accra FM and Taadi FM, outlined the objectives of the peace campaign, stating, “Our goal is to promote tolerance, unity, and non-violence. We want every Ghanaian to remember that peace is the foundation of our nation’s progress. Taadi FM remains committed to using its platform to engage, inform, and foster a sense of togetherness within our community.”

The One Ghana One Peace campaign has also directed powerful messages at the youth. Community leaders have warned against being manipulated by political forces. “Do not lose your life or harm yourself for any politician,” one leader cautioned, stressing the importance of letting law enforcement handle election security. They urged voters to focus on their role: casting their ballots peacefully and coming together to celebrate after the results are declared.

With messages of hope and responsibility, the One Ghana One Peace campaign continues to resonate across the Western Region. Taadi FM’s unwavering dedication to community development and cultural celebration underscores the importance of collective effort in maintaining Ghana’s longstanding reputation as a beacon of peace in Africa.
