I am not a legend in Ghana music yet – Obrafour

Musician, Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko known as Obrafour has said that he is not qualified to be called a legend of Ghana’s music.

The executioner who is noted for composing songs with great lyrics said he has not done enough in music to be considered a legend of Ghana music industry in Ghana.

“I cannot be considered a legend of Ghana music…I have not accomplished enough to merit this title…,” he said.

Since 1999, when Obrafour released his first album; ‘Pae mu ka’, he became a very successful hiplife musician with most of hi albums winning awards at Ghana Music Awards.

He was adjudged the rapper of the year, new artiste of the year and best hiplife son for ‘Pae mu ka’ at the 2000 Ghana Music Awards.

His fame transcends the borders of Ghana, as he has performed in Europe as well as the US. His concerts and performances are ones to behold.

Obrafour’s songs have also received awards in some countries as well. He has also featured on a number of artistes’ tracks.

‘The priest of rap music’ as he is called is also acknowledged for bringing out great contents in his songs.

These feats notwithstanding, Obrafour speaking on Adom FM’s Mid-morning show, ‘Work and Happiness’ with Ohemaa Woyeje said he is still not qualified to be called a legend of music in Ghana.

“When we talk of legends in Ghana music, the likes of Nana Ampadu qualifies to be christened legends and not me…,” he said.
