The Former President John Dramani Mahama paid a politeness visit to the first National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Yilo Krobo constituency, Hon. Godwin John Quarshie at his home on Thursday, April 14, 2022.
The Ex- president together with the National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and other dignitaries Sylvester Mensah, Hon. Kofi Attoh, Victor Smith, Julius Debrah and some other current members of parliament visited the old NDC Member of Parliament at his home Somanya.
The visit was to wish him good health, happy Easter and also to assure him that he has not been forgotten as a pioneer in the party.
They presented some food items like rice, oil, milo and other materials together with unspecified amount of cash in an envelope.
Hon. Godwin John Quarshie and his family in an excited and cordially welcomed the former president and his accompany. “God has seen the good work you started for mother Ghana. He just wanted you to have a break and rest so you would continue in a good time ahead. You are young and so don’t be afraid. On 7th January, 2025, you will surely be the president of Ghana again”. Quarshie said.
The old comrade also thanked the team for the gifts and showed highly esteemed for their visitation.
Hon. Godwin John Quarshie is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the first parliament of the fourth Republic. He represented the Yilo Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana on the ticket of the NDC. He was born at Somanya Salosi (Yilo Krobo) in the Eastern Region and took office from January 1993 to January 1997 with the Late President Jerry John Rawlings.
John Dramani Mahama and the NDC team used the opportunity to visit other old party mates like Major Ted Tetteh (Rtd), Hon. Michael T. Nyaunu, Hon. Issahaku Salia, and Alhaji Rashid Haruna in the Eastern Region and the Greater Accra Region respectively.
