Father of deceased extremely talented female dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, who goes by the moniker Starboy Kwarteng, has asked Charterhouse Ghana, organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards to render an unqualified apology to him for failing to recognise his daughter at this year’s awards.
Interacting with Agyenkwa FM, the CEO of Bony To The World Records disclosed that the angry spirit of Ebony Reigns caused the fracas which transpired between two great dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy at the 20th VGMAs because organisers of the event did not give her the due respect as the first female musician to win the highly coveted Artiste of the Year award.
He went on to express his disappointment in Charterhouse for not engaging him in the organisation of this year’s awards because according to him, every year during the VGMAs, the winner for the Artiste of the year category for the previous year, is recognized in some way.
Mr. Kwarteng disclosed that attempts to get Charterhouse include him in the awards scheme proved futile and he was really hurt that he and his daughter were sidelined totally during the awards ceremony.
Responding to a question whether he will forgive Charterhouse should they apologize, the late singer’s dad replied in the affirmative.
He was again asked on what his reactions would be if they refuse to apologise. In reply he said, he would not say much but time will tell.
