Movie producer ‘Famous Multimedia’ throws light on his Afro HipHop music career
The renowned Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Famous Multimedia, Prophet Benjamin Sarpong, has launched his music career under the moniker, Famous De Legend.
The renowned movie director and producer’s latest ambition has since sparked conversations on social media as many critics have started questioning his pastoral background.
According to him, people criticizing his Afro HipHop path don’t get to him because he is a creative person who loves to showcase his talent regardless.
The musician and creative, however, said he is still a pastor and hasn’t deviated from the ways of his maker.
“People are doubting and saying a lot about me stopping the ministry and doing hip-hop. Do they see music as a sin?” He said in an interview.
“My father was into music… he was a live band performer at Asante Mampong. I came to hear what he did and how he was so much in love with music. Right from childbirth, I have had the passion. Music has always been part of me and when I am doing a movie soundtrack, I show them how I want to do it. I am a multiple-talented person and that is the part of me that I want the world to see.”
Meanwhile, Famous De Legend has collaborated with the music duo Keche on a contemporary track dubbed ‘Hallelujah’, produced by WillisBeat.
The song is steadily garnering numbers on social media, with Famous De Legend, urging his fans to stream on various digital platforms.
“I will like my fans to listen and look out for more of my songs. Famous De Legend is here to stay. Do they think because I am a filmmaker I cannot do music? I can do inspirational songs and the Bible allows that. Who I will feature, secular or not, depends on the song,” he explained.

Naming some of the musicians he has worked with, the CEO of Famous Multimedia said, “I have worked with Isaac Ampong, Mad Prophet, Brother Sammy and Ernest Opoku. The song will call the kind of character or musician I have to feature. I have even recorded a song ‘Lion of Judah’ with the late actor Bishop Bernard Nyarko,” Famous De Legend revealed.

Nonetheless, reacting to photos of him smoking a cigar on social media, the movie director said, “I do tell stories in my songs. And sometimes I demonstrate the kind of people I want to talk to. I talk about ghetto boys in my lyrics, no disrespect to them and some of these Ghetto boys smoke, so I am only portraying what is happening in the real world in my visuals,” he said.
Meanwhile, Famous De Legend is currently promoting his latest album dubbed Boys Boys which features musicians such as Yaa Pono, Fameye, Kofi Kinaata, Akwaboah, Mr Drew and Strongman among other notables music stars.
