Fancy Gadam charged Ratty Bee GHC 10,000 for a feature

Ratty Bee the African girl hit-maker, in an interview with Arnold Mensah Elavanyo of VIBES IN 5 raised several concerns about the current issues in the Ghanaian music industry. He indicated that the music industry of the country has been mutilated to the extent that, most music videos totally deviate from the Ghanaian culture whiles promoting Social ills which were once frowned by the society during the days of Obrafour and other legends of the industry. The artist stated unequivocally on Vibes in 5 TV show that “What they are showing people through these music videos is what is making people to behave badly, because the kind of dance portrayed are degrading, especially to women who are mostly half-naked or badly dressed. Apart from this, these days, they only promote romance in the videos,”

Again, as an artist from the Northern part of the country, he was asked by Arnold to comment on the top two young reigning artists in Northern Ghana-Fancy Gadam and Macassio. From the words of Arnold Mensah Elavanyo, “these two guys are the top guys in the Northern Region-Fancy Gadam and Maccasio. First of all, what do you think about Fancy Gadam?” In answering this question, Ratty Bee replied that Fancy Gadam has the talent and for that matter, he is good.

However, he further added that, being good is not the only requirement to make it in the music industry but to have the opportunity and the funding required to make it happen. Ratty Bee further made an argument that he believes he has better talents and can be better than, all of them, including Fancy Gadam when they are all put on a level playing field.

When asked as to make a choice between these two artists, as to which one he would like to feature in his song, Ratty Bee replied that he would like to collaborate with any of them when the opportunity comes. He further revealed that, he approached Fancy Gadam, for a feature but was disappointed at the amount he was charged to pay. He noted that for a future, Fancy charged him 10, 000 Ghana Cedis, just to add his voice in a song he has prepared.

According to Ratty Bee, “I was very sad when I heard of this. Because, it is not easy to raise such an amount, especially in the northern Region”. The artist further added that he would love to future Fancy Gadam in that particular song he has prepared only if his Northern brother-Fancy Gadam would agree to reduce the amount for him.

In his concluding message, Ratty Bee added that, though he is still young in the music industry, but he indicated that, Ghanaian musicians should try as much as possible to inculcate Ghanaian culture in their music videos and stop copying everything from the west. He added that most of the musicians behave like copycats and that we copy almost everything without considering the implications it has on our society. “Let’s exhibit our culture and let people know that we have a rich culture”, he added.
