Ghanaian Afropop singer and songwriter Noella Wiyaala popularly known for singing in her native Sissala and Waale dialects has express how bad she felt growing up as a woman.

According to her, growing up with muscles with a flat backside without the curvy body shape really affected her as a teenager in the society she grew up.

“No boy wanted a woman with those features and they made fun of me each time I step out”, she lamented.

She revealed that growing up in Wa was her biggest challenge because both the young and the old made her a laughing stock with her “boyish” body and her dark skin.

“The young Lioness of Africa” added that, society pressured her to bleach and even recommended creams for for skin tonning among others but she refused knowing that she would one day get a man to love her with her dark skin colour and body features.
