Kwahu East youths in the Eastern Region have charged President Akufo Addo’s government to address the Fulani incursion in their district.The district duelers lamented seriously about the damages caused on their farmland by the fulan’s herdman.
According to the Kwahu citizens, some farmers in the district have been physically attacked on their farmlands in the day light and sometimes in the evening when the farmers are returning home from their farms.
The youths in the Kwahuman district have threatened to revenge the Fulani attacks in president Akufo Addo and his government fails to intervene by driving the Fulani out of the district.
The prez of Kwahu youths for social development Solomon Tettey , has revealed this in an exclusive telephone interview with Abro radio’s reporter.
The leader of social development Solomon Tettey also added that,as a group with a major interest in the development of kwahuman, ” we see the situation as a great threat to development as properties by these fulani herdsmen,” he expressed.
The youth Prez claimed that, at least nine lives have been lost with several sustaining various degree of injury”, he disclosed.
“We, the leadership of kwahu youth for social development and its members wish to expressed our displeasure to the attack and killing of aboriginals in the Kwahu East District by Fulani herdsmen”, he vehemently expressed.
He also added that,there must be an immediate intervention by government and opinion leaders to deal with the situation.
“Little could the ordinary citizens do in dealing with the issue of their farms being destroyed by Fulani herdsmen as those who employed these fulani’s are very powerful and influential in the community”.
Fulani herdsmen have always been the threat to the people of Kwahu East District ,they are also armed with guns and knives which is putting the community in to fear,he angrily expressed.
“We as a group also think the Member of Parliament for the constituency who doubles as a minister of state in charge of National security, Hon Bryan Acheampong made proposal in handling the situation,” he expressed.
“We still believe the MP and minister with the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon Kwakye Daffour who is also MP for Kwahu West and the government as a whole can help with the needed forces from the various security services to protect and depend the affected communities”,.
Again, he stressed that, some of the communities are empty as people have to flee to save their lives.
He also emphasized that, they have send a strong signal to those influential people who for self- centered parochial interests are inciting the Fulani herdsmen against the people of kwahuman.
“We equally call on the kwahumanhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong 11 and all other Chiefs to add their voices as early as possible as the aboriginals of some communities with the district are very vulnerable at this moment.
He also said that,the Chief is trying everything in his possible best to stop these Fulani’s heardsmen but what he is doing is not enough so the chief should still fight hard to stop the situation.
The youths of Kwahuman East has charged prez Akufo Addo and his government’s to deals with these Fulani herdsmen and the influential people who have supporting them.
