MTN Hitmaker Brought Me To Fame – Koo Ntakra

Born Isaac Akuffo with the stage name Koo Ntakra has revealed that Mtn Hitmaker season 2 gave him the fame and made him who he is today.

He is considered one of the major proponents of the ‘Akuapem Rap’. Koo Ntakra soared to the limelight after being crowned the winner of the annual ‘MTN Hitmaker’ TV music contest, beating other contestants who entered into the competition in 2013.

After winning the reality show 2014, he had the opportunity to perform on stage for the annual ‘Legends & Legacy’ Concert which celebrated highlife Legend AB Crentsil. Koo Ntakra went on that year to record with Nigeria based artiste WondaBoy, which featured on his debut album, Akuaba.

His collaborations with top artistes, and performances gained him opportunity to share the same stage with international arts like, Davido, Wiz Boy from Nigeria, as well as Sarkodie, Samini, D-Black, Shatta Wale and many more in Ghana.

In November 2014, Koo Ntakra released his first studio album, titled ‘AKUABA’ (Priceless).

The finest Akuapem rapper (KOK) launched his second album on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Joy Dadi’s Bar in Koforidua

The album dubbed “King of Kofcity” (KOK) made history in Koforidua as thousands of people showed up for the album launch.

“I decided to launch my album in Koforidua because they have showed me love since day one from Hitmaker,” he said

On the night the likes of Yaa Pono, D Cryme, Tee Rhyme, Amerado, Danso Abiam, Eno, Renner, Chuku lion, and many others came to support the launch.

The Eastern Music Awards Artist of the Year, Koo Ntakra gave a sterling performance on the night.

The 17 track album featured Choirmaster, Yaa Pono, Cano Z, Edem, D Cryme among many other great artists.

The rapper who shared his success story on the night with his fans said, the album was especially dedicated to his mum who was also present at the launch.

“My mum has been my number one fun and I will always mention her name wherever I find myself”. He added
