Fastest rising Hip life artist Philip Gamesu, known in showbiz as Racky Nova has slammed the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), especially on the union’s contribution and support for musicians from the eastern region.
‘MUSIGA is not helping artists from the eastern region and has never been supportive’ Racky disclosed in an exclusive interview with host of Rejoice TV’s ‘Early today Morning’ show, Nicholas Fianklu.
Racky stated emphatically that Obour is not helping the music industry especially when it comes to musicians in the eastern region where they voted massively for him.
‘There are no project, structures or better still plans laid down by the union to help musicians from the Eastern part of the country’ he lamented.
Racky who is a member of MUSIGA, further revealed that, there are many talents in the Eastern Region that needs a little push for a breakthrough in the music industry, but with no projects, structures and plans from the union, they find it difficult to unveil themselves. Up and coming artist finds it difficult to find managers and ever monies for Studio fees.
Touching on the performance of Obour as president of the union, the artist stated that, Obour has done the little he can but has failed many Ghanaians especially Musicians from the Eastern Region where a lot was expected from him.
‘Our offices in the Region is not functioning and we want him to wake up and take action as president of the union and support talents from the eastern region and also lay down good structures and better projects to make MUSIGA function well in all the ten regions’ he stated.
Racky called for support from individual investors and record labels to support artists from the eastern region since there are great talents that needs such opportunities from the public.
