Biography.
Nana Kojo Ayisah Amakyi popularly known by his Stage name Shay D is a Ghanaian recording artist and a Songwriter.
He was born in Breman Esikuma in the Central Region of Ghana on the 6th of September 1993 as the last child in a family of 5 with strong ties to musical instruments as his Grandfather use to play the Guitar in Church and his parents were both bankers influenced his decision to start a music career.
The graduate of Political Science and Adult Education from the University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana has recorded songs and performed with a couple of artists in Ghana like Trigmatic, Epixode, Luther, Gemini, and Ak Songstress to name a few.
He believes music expresses his core beliefs – both as artistes and as a person. Music allows him to say what he cannot say in words.
He simply creates what he believes in as an individual. He does not seek to connect with everyone but with people who also share his beliefs.
