Women Should Take Part In Politics-Miss Fatima Abubakar

The deputy communication director of the president, Miss Fatima Abubakar, has encouraged all women to participate in politics.

In an interview with her yesterday at Africa Union delegate conference in East Legon America house – Accra,she said all women need to occupy high position in order to participate in nation building.

She addedthat, women must not find it difficult to speak in public and urged all women in media to empower other women to participate in politics.

“As a women you need to have a card table for yourself and also have the ability to set agenda to tune the mind set of the people”, Fatima entreated.

According to her, Ghana is blessed to enjoy fundamental human rights such as voting,freedom of speech among others to the fullest.

She opined that about 50%of Ghana population are women, even though a lot of women are in Parliament but they are not allow to share their view in decision making. That is why women empowerment has come for women to speak for the government to make laws that will benefit the women to have power in Parliament to speak and not just to occupied space.

“We should keep educating ourselves on political issues and we to take risks , smart,bold and courageous when it comes to decision making and also work hard to earn your position”,she enlightened.

“Am the first generation politician in my family and I believe in my contributions for building women and nation building for them to be able to achieved their dreams,”she boasted.

The organizer for the program,miss Lydia Atiamu also advised women not to remove their pants for men to gain position.

She also encouraged women to muster courage and energy to invest in their education to let men know that they are intelligent for they have vision in helping nation building.

She also urged all women to come out to speak because generally we have a lot of women who find it difficult to come out to speak when it comes to political space,and there is stigmatization that people have that force allegation about women ,that women are so weak to participate in nation building instead never give up and continue to fight the best for yourself and the nation as well.

The conference saw the lives of dignitaries from Sudan, South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Senegal and a few to mention.
