Yenze Ghana Mall: Empowering Local Entrepreneurs and Showcasing Made-in-Ghana Excellence
Yenze Ghana Mall, launched in October 2024 under the BizBox Project by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) andMastercard Foundation was created to empower local entrepreneurs and showcase Made-in-Ghana products. Its mission is to provide affordable retail space and visibility for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly those led by youth, women, and persons with disabilities. The mall’s name, “Yenze,” meaning our own, reflects its vision of celebrating Ghanaian creativity and promoting dignity in local enterprise.
Located at No. 21 First Osu Lane, Osu–Accra, Yenze Ghana Mall is more than a shopping centre—it is a trade facilitation hub that offers retail space and business support. Shoppers can find a wide range of authentic Ghanaian products, from natural spices and handmade sandals to clothing, cosmetics, and other crafts, all in a serene environment enhanced by welcoming staff and a modern retail experience.
Aside serving as a retail centre for shoppers, the goal of the 4-year project which ends in 2027 is to support 250,000 young people, between the ages of 18 and 35 in dignified and fulfilling jobs. Out of the 250,000, 70% is allocated for young women, 10% for persons with disabilities (PWDs), and the remaining 20% for young men. This aligns with GEA’s mandate, the Government of Ghana’s goal, and the foundation’s vision to address youth employment in Ghana; enabling 3 million young women and men access to dignified and fulfilling work by 2030.
The mall plays a strategic role in Ghana’s economic development by strengthening MSMEs, which form the backbone of the national economy. Backed by government support and endorsed by high-level officials, Yenze Ghana Mall is envisioned as a model to be replicated across the country. Through digital marketing and outreach, it attracts a mix of local and expatriate customers, while also serving as a cultural showcase that highlights Ghana’s entrepreneurial spirit. By bridging market access and cultural pride, Yenze Ghana Mall has positioned itself as both a business hub and a celebration of Ghanaian identity.
