Newman Kyei Akomea, a Police Officer who works at the National Police Headquarters in Accra on the Christmas festive holiday feted 85 Orphans which are under the care of Hope in Christ Foundation at Kwaman in the Sekyere Central District of Ashanti.

The occasion saw variety of mouthwatering dishes served with chilled soft drinks amidst fun, music and entertainment, aside the party, he also presented teaching and learning materials (85 exercise books, pens and pencils, erazors and others) which all cost Ghc7,000.

Speaking to press men after the memorable occasion, Mr Newman Kyei, revealed that, he is committed to put smiles on faces of the less privileged in the society especially during the Yuletide and this is maiden edition of which he is poised to annually organized such events to support the underprivileged in the society no matter the cost.

“It is my will to support the less privileged with passion, determination and support through my family members and other philanthropist”, he added.

According to him, the act of voluntary giving makes us to look good in the sight of God and the society at large.

“Those who gives to the needy and the destitute exemplified the character traits of God who he said has from creation giving to mankind freely”, he expressed.

Mr Akomea stressed out that, if we believe all of us were created in the image of God then let’s us do what we could do to help others who may be in need so as to mirror to the society true godliness.

He indicated all the society were capable of giving no matter how little they could give out to the needy and it’s not the amount ones gives was important but the heart which ones gives out.

He said he wants to adopt one of the kids to spend on him till he completes Senior High School to help eradicate the burden of the caretakers.

“I will do my possible best to provide infrastructural projects to the foundation because upon visiting their premises, i realized that there is a lot of things they are lacking”, he noted.

He has pleaded on behalf of the Orphanage for people to assist them in terms of their school fees and accommodations since one person can not afford all and advised the kids not to loose hope because of their condition but determine and focus on their studies.

The founder and leader for Hope in Christ Foundation Orphanage home, Evangelist Dennis Ofosu-hene used the occasion to thank Inspector Kyei Akomea for this kind gesture and made a passionate call on the public to also assist the kids in their living conditions.

According to Evangelist Ofosu-hene, taking care of 85 children in this rural community is not a small task, sometimes, some of their major challenges as care home is lack of accommodations, foods, shelters and others so other philanthropist should come to their aid to help cater for the kids.
