Chief pledges to lure investors to support development

The newly-enskinned Tufuhene of Adukrom of the Okuapeman traditional area in the okere District of the Eastern Region, Nana Ayisi Koranteng IV, has pledged to lure non-governmental organisations (NGOs), development partners and international businesses to invest in the area to spur growth and development.

“As a traditional authority, I will not only rely on the government for development but also use my connections outside the shores of the country to travel and meet with NGOs, our development partners and other private investors to help transform the area since the area is impoverished.
I will complete all construction of schools in the community that have been abandoned.

“I promise to extend a helping hand to the youth, the vulnerable and put the community first.

Although my intentions were to contest as a parliamentary candidate for Akuapem North constituency to be a member of parliament in other to serve my people but was confronted by his mum to rescind from that decision.

He has also called on the people to unite to help speed up the development of the community.

He said societies were developed through unity and active participation of all the people in the initiation and implementation of programmes and projects that could help uplift the people from their current situations.

Speaking at a durbar after his coronation at Adukrom in the Okere District, he said unity was crucial in achieving the development agenda of the community.

He, therefore, called on all stakeholders such as the chiefs, assembly members, unit committee members and the people to join hands together with him to initiate and implement projects that would help improve the living conditions of the people.
He called on the people to keep their environment clean and take good care of their children, especially in the areas of their education and well-being.

Nana Ayisi Koranteng IV, also called on the youth to be law abiding and take part in all communal activities.
