Exploring the Life and Career of Lady Scarce: The Sensational Singer And Songwriter

Anita George Yeboah popularly known as Lady Scarce ( Stargurl) is set to become the youngest female High life,Hiplife, Afro Pop, Dancehall and Raggae artiste to emerge from Ghana.

Lady Scarce ( Stargurl) was born on October 1, 1996 in the family of Mr. George Okoko and Mrs Akos Koseme in Aflao, Volta Region, Ghana. Her father, a Nigerian, lived in Ghana and was a trader that specialized in motor parts and later at the advent of new technologies in Ghana, he was a dealer in mobile phone accessories and sales. Her mother, a Ghanaian was also a trader then and a home teacher.

Lady Scarce’s ( Stargurl) delivery, assertive and her stylistic prowess we believe is set to take over the industry by storm. Even though she’s a hiplife/Afro Pop singer, Lady Scarce’s ( Stargurl) conscious decision to embrace more traditional forms of African spirituality in her songs continues to guide her choice of words and lyrics.

In an interview with Lady Scarce (Stargurl), when narrating her childhood story, she said

“MY CHILDHOOD I grew up in the native home of my mother in Aflao, Volta Region in Ghana where I learnt how to speak English, Ewe and Twi and later my father took me to Nigeria where I learnt how to speak Igbo Language. I play football and had a deep passion for music in my childhood. I started singing at the age of 7 in our local churches and schools. I represented my school in different music competitions and won awards. Business and family needs made my father go back to Nigeria and it wasn’t a given growing up but I give all the glory to the Almighty God for HIS provision. MY SCHOOL i attended Umunnabuo Primary School, Ihechiowa and Umunnabuo Secondary Technical School, Ihechiowa, Arochukwu Local Government Area, Abia State, Nigeria.MY HOBBIESI play football and make musicMY CAREER My musical career hasn’t seen a better light from inception owing to challenges in financing and logistics. I use to trek from the native villages of Kasoa in Ghana to Circle in the capital city of Accra to make music. Sometimes, I will be tired to make a way back home but all to God who saw me through the thick and thin times. I have been a motor assistant and conductor just to make sure I could raise funds to pay the studio managers to make my music’s.MY FUTUREI plan a future to take African musics to the world stage where the voice of African youths make public sense. So help me God.

When asked why she do music with ease, she added that “I come from a family that sings, almost everyone is a musician in my family. So this alone should tell Ghanaians what am in for. My passion for music made me who I am today I was so much talented in different ways playing football was my hobby I played landmark Academy in Lagos State letter joined squad FC in Togo join ketu ladies FC, tiafa ladies FC in Ghana. I had an accident which automatically made me quite football and paid more Focus to my music career it’s not been easy trying to express myself. Until scarce Lee entertainment came to my rescue in 2022”.And I was reborn into Plusboom Music by Scarce lee entertainment.

As she gets set to take up the baton and help uplift the female folks in that genre of music in Ghana, only time will tell what her limit will be. Lady Scarce is currently working with GEORGE SCARCELEE WILSON(KWAMENA. SCARCELEE) who is the CEO of the record label Scarce Lee Entertainment and ISAAC KENNEDY OWUSU ( ABISCO) who is the General manager for the record label
