Signed onto L.M.G record label,singer cum rapper Yaaba Yaw in his latest interview has asked Ghanaians not to compare him to Medikal because they are different.
He said, Ghanaians should not mistakenly think they are on the same level in the world of music.
Speaking in an interview captured by Kumikasa.com, Yaaba Yaw mentioned that he is young in the industry, hence there should not be a basis for the comparism to a top star like Medikal. Yaaba Yaw added that, even though he is doing marvelously well in the music industry, he sees himself as young person.
“Am myself and i think am doing well, .Am trying to put Eastern Music to some level but I can’t rate myself or compare myself to Medikal even though people are saying I rap like him. There is no way you can compare the two of us because my rappi is different from that of Medikal,” Yaaba Yaw emphasized.
When asked to compare his performance to that of Medikal, he replied by saying there is no need for that comparism.
When asked how this comparism has affected his career,he reply by saying that, “In some way it has (affected me) because people always say, ‘am copying from Medikal,others also mentions Medikal’s name even though they are listening to my song.
Yaaba Yaw few days after releasing his song “2Raw” has been accused of copying Medikal. According to social media users, Yaaba Yaw was forcing himself to sound like Medikal on the song.
