Your name Aquia, is very unique and beautiful…I assume it is your interpretation of the Akan female Wednesday born, Akua ?

Yes, I just wanted to be different as there are hundreds of Akuas in Ghana.
As an artiste, you have to have your own uniqueness and identity.
But most importantly, Aquia, in Hebrew means, a beautiful spirit, intelligence and powerful, which summarizes who I am.
Which part of Ghana do you come from?
I am from Kukurantumi, in the Eastern Region but I am an Accra girl.
My dad was a police officer, so we bounced around a lot due to his job, till we finally settled in Dansoman.
Why singing?

Singing is my life! I started singing at a very tender age. I could sing from morning till evening.
I always loved music, so naturally, I was in the school choir from primary to high school and even formed a trio band with my brother and a friend.
Why gospel music?

After trying my hands on other genres, Highlife and Hiplife, I settled on Gospel because that is where I find my strength and inspiration.
Gospel music is the underdog, does not really receive that much attention as circular music, but it is recited from the cradle to the grave, at every occasion, Gospel music is sang, huge untapped potential and that is why I want to be a part of this genre, to inspire and uplift.
But your style of Gospel is a little different?

My style is Jazzy and Urban as my target audience is the youth and the avid listener.
Do you have an album out yet and where can fans get your songs?

My album titled Mensuro, was produced last year, engineered by the maestro, Zapp Mallet.
