Graduates across the country who will be starting their national service this year have been asked to undergo a biometric validation process or forfeit their allowances.
Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Secretariat (NSS), Henry Nana Boakye, explained on Wednesday, May 3: “All national service personnel are, therefore, expected to obtain validation forms from the district secretariats of the NSS, fill them with their respective heads of departments, and personally submit them to the district secretariats by Monday, 15th May, 2017 to complete the validation process.”
He said “personnel who fail to undergo the validation process will be considered as ghosts and will not receive allowances”.
This, the secretariat explained, was necessary to ensure that no “ghost names” existed on the NSS payroll.
