The maiden edition of Eastern Music Awards organised by Hi5 Production and the Presenters Association of the Eastern Region has received a lot of backlash from some patrons who have criticised the awards for their procedures and ways of nominating artist in the region.

One of the finest Kofcity act, Oteniba has one way or the other joined the criticising bandwagon, calling on the organisers to take his name out from the nominations.

In an exclusive interview with Kumikasa.com, Oteniba mentioned that,he is not prepared for the maiden edition of Eastern Music Awards, “am not engaging myself in the award because I didn’t work hard to my expectations, aside that, even though most of my songs are popular outside the region, my songs don’t have much airplays on Radio stations in Eastern region. So i don’t think I have any business in the awards this year but I hope to join next year”, the zongo soldier,Oteniba told Kumikasa.com.

This is what Oteniba posted on his Facebook wall:
“”””It sometimes takes a state of solitude to bring to mind the real power of companionship.
It’s rather unfortunate to announce to the #Organisers of EASTERN MUSIC AWARDS#EMA and the general public that, I am very sorry i cant be part of this years nominee due to a mission am embarking on.I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and the Organisers.
I thank you for this step you’ve taken ,At least u showcasing us on the map.
