Omeihejideofor Charity Foundation, has trained over 50 youth in the Wa East District of Ghana on various skills and entrepreneurial areas, including soap making and satellite installation.

The Training took place on Saturday, 28th January, 2023 at the Loggu Junior High School premises. It received a total of 61 participants, composed of 30 males and 31 women from Loggu and its neighboring communities, all in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region.

The training lasted from 10am to 5pm as it was prepared comprehensively to cover both theoretical aspects of the various skill areas as well as the practice. All 30 men were taken through the practical training session on satellite installation, starting from assembling, mounting and installation to scanning and basic setting. The women on the other hand were taken through the preparation of shower gel, liquid soap and bar soap. The training was done using the participatory learning approach as learners were allowed to have hands-on experience throughout all stages of learning.

According to the country director of Omeihejideofor Charity Foundation, Mr. Mashood Hillia stated that this training is intended to equip the youth of the Wa East District with relevant employable skills in an attempt to contribute to wider societal growth and reduction of poverty. He further explained why the all-important activity was granted absolutely free to all the participants.

At the end of the training, the participants were very happy and appreciated the efforts of the organizers. Speaking to GHONLINETV, Mr. Abu Fatawu, one of the participants from Loggu, stated that he had fully learnt a new skill which would go a long way to make his life better. “I have a job but this training has given me extra skills which I will use to make extra income to improve upon my living standard. All thanks to Omeihejideofor Charity Foundation” he stated.

One of the female participants, 25 years old SHS graduate also stated, “after SHS, I have always been wondering what next to do with my life as I cannot further my education because of reasons beyond my control. The worrying part of it was that I was not also skilled in anyway. This is why I hurried to go and register for this training immediately I heard about it. I am therefore very grateful for the new skill I have been equipped with. I will make sure I practice it and earn some money to organize my life.”

This training was initiated and facilitated by Omeihejideofor Charity Foundation in collaboration with the Tech Aid for Rural Development. Omeihejideofor charity Foundation is a family foundation established by Chukwuebuka Raphael Ezeh popularly known as Street Bishop, an entrepreneur who controls multiple businesses and hails from Anambra state in Nigeria.
