I sometimes pick ‘trotro’ to show how humble I am – Joey B

Ghanaians concluded that he was broke and so now using that means of transportation

Joey B has said he is not broke but rather he is learning humility by taking “trotro”

YEN.com.gh reported the news of musician Joey B caught riding in a commercial vehicle, popularly called ‘trotro’.

The reports went haywire, with many people concluding that the ‘Tonga’ hit maker was broke and so he had to resort to “trotro” as his means of transportation.

Explaining his reasons for picking “trotro”, Joey B said he is learning humility by doing so.

According to him, he is from a humble background, and the fact that he is a celebrity now doesn’t mean he is above anyone picking ‘trotro’.

Joey B revealed that the news report that he was on board a commercial vehicle went really far, making a lot of people call to verify from him if all was well with him.

“I was really shocked when the news came out that I was broke and so boarding ‘trotro’.

“People called me; even my uncle called and was like Kwesi is everything okay with you?”

“But the truth behind my picking trotro is that I was trying to portray something, I remember at a point in time when things were not all that rosy and my sister and I were picking trotro to school.”

“It was a norm; my dad who is a graduate and a very nice man was picking trotro that means he was very humble. So I learnt from that, hey I need to teach people how to be humble; I can never be broke,” Joey B stressed.
