One half of defunct Ghanaian music group, Dobble, Paa Kwasi, has asked Ghanaians to try all means to keep the indigenous genre, Highlife alive.

Speaking on Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon FM, he said that all highlife artistes should make a conscious effort to save Highlife from fading

According to him, there should be no form of comparison among Highlife musicians.

He stated that highlife faded out but for the invention of some artistes it is still relevant in the music industry.

“What I feel is the thing is already dying so we all should have an agenda, conscious effort to push the name highlife, nothing more. Forget about the guitar band and whatever whatever. Let’s just push highlife”

“Because afrobeat/Afropop whatever is more like highlife but when you cross over they call it afrobeat so I feel like that is what we’re supposed to do as Ghanaians. Conscious effort to push the highlife”

Asked if the movement is growing, Paa Kwesi said, “It is growing since you have young guys calling themselves highlife artistes now it means that we’re doing something”.
