Nneka youth foundation, one of Ghana’s fastest growing NGOs in Ghana on Thursday December 26 assembled a host of young people from Nkwanta South and treated them to good food, entertainment and drinks as part of the organisation’s annual Christmas party.
This year’s edition saw over 1,500 young people from the Nkwanta South municipality enjoy some great food, music, games and walked away with great Christmas presents such as clothes, footwear, books and other learning materials donated by benevolent individuals and organisations.
The move was part of activities climaxing the foundation’s year and pursuing the commitment to put smiles on the faces of children during the Christmas period.
Nneka Youth Foundation is a non-governmental organization led by Madam Cecilia Fiaka .The organisation aims to, among other things instil a sense of achievement and
empowerment of women in rural areas.
The over 1,500 children who gathered took turns in the ‘pick and act’, choreography, and singing and dancing competitions.
Other children exhibited their skills on drums and other musical instruments. The artistic facial paintings were just irresistible for many of the lovely children many of whom were clad in Nneka Youth Foundation souvenirs.
The Chief Executive Officer of Nneka Youth Foundation, Mrs. Cecilia Fiaka bemoaned the present situation of children on the streets of Ghana.
“We also know of the situation in the Nkwanta South Municipality. There are quite a number of children on the street, and it is our hope that Nneka Youth foundation will assist to get them off the street and give them quality education with Christian values as well”.
It is Christmas, and this is in our view the best time to put some smiles in the faces of all these Children seen here.
