There are people who believe gospel musicians should not be paid because they believe, it is a ministry and therefore it must be done with volunteers.And for other churches, they claim that they are small churches and their budget does not allow them to pay musicians.
Anita Afriyie has said without mincing that the work of God is not a voluntary work, saying that she is not a fool to perform for free.
Anita Afriyie made this assertion on Sunyani based radio station,Cheer 1005. Fm last Saturday on March 15,2019.
The gospel sensation in an interview with Tactical Shifo on Cheers Fm Entertainment Power show said “It is biblical to pay gospel musicians for the work that they do in the churches . I believe this helps the musicians to focus on the ministry and prayer as they are not busy trying to make money and serve God at the same time. In fact, i will be a fool to perform without taking money” Anita explained.
She further stated that, Musicians will be motivated to do more for the church if they are paid, “At least some small appreciate can ginger our spirit to do more but musicians are not paid and yet expected to be fully committed to the work of God which does not help them (Musicians).
