Leader/Founder of All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Ayariga, ‘knocks down’ President Akufo-Addo over the president’s decision to lift the 3-week old partial lockdown in Ghana.

The outspoken politician is the latest to add his voice to the numerous Ghanaians who find the president’s actions towards the COVID-19 fight disgusting and distasteful.

“Let’s all be vigilant and know that if the virus gets out of hand:

Hospitals wouldn’t be enough
Doctors wouldn’t be enough
Nurses and health workers wouldn’t be enough
The medication wouldn’t be enough
Vaccines wouldn’t be enough
The workforce wouldn’t be enough
Infrastructure would be a challenge.

Stay home and save yourself and your family.”, he wrote on his official social media handle.

Ghana has recorded 1,042 COVID-19 positive cases and becomes the first African country to not extend but lift a lockdown. Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and more recently Zimbabwe have all extended lockdowns aimed at curbing the spread of the pandemic.

The government however warned that lockdowns could be imposed in hotspots if need be.
